WARDOGS FOV, sensitivity and the aim settings that matter
FOV is under Settings → Gameplay. Use 95 on 16:9 and 100–105 on 3440×1440. Set sensitivity by cm-per-360, not by feel, and keep ADS sensitivity "matched" so scoped flicks land where you expect. Turn off motion blur, vignette and film grain; all three make distant players harder to see.
FOV
WARDOGS maps are big and most fights start at 100–200 m. A wide FOV shows more but shrinks everything, so the usual trade-off is:
| Monitor | FOV | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 16:9, 1080p/1440p | 90–95 | Enough peripheral view to see flanks, targets still readable |
| 16:9, 4K | 95–100 | Extra pixels keep small targets clear |
| 21:9 ultrawide (3440×1440) | 100–105 | Compensates for the wider aspect; 95 feels narrow on 21:9 |
| 32:9 | 105–110 | Same reasoning, further |
Sensitivity by numbers
- Find your cm/360 in a game you're good at. CS2:
(2.54 × 360) / (DPI × sens × 0.022). - Aim for the same cm/360 in WARDOGS. 30–45 cm/360 suits infantry with vehicles; pure infantry players sit nearer 25–35.
- Set ADS sensitivity so a target under your crosshair when you scope is still under it after the zoom. Most games call this "monitor distance match 0%" or "matched"; if WARDOGS only offers a multiplier, start at 0.8 for red dots and 0.6 for scopes.
- Turn mouse acceleration off in Windows (Pointer Precision) and in the game.
Vehicle sensitivity
Helicopters have their own sensitivity and inverted-Y toggle; set them separately and don't let them inherit your infantry number, or you'll over-pitch every takeoff.
Visual settings that affect aim
- Motion blur: off. Hides movement during flicks.
- Vignette: off. Darkens exactly the corners where flankers appear on ultrawide.
- Film grain / chromatic aberration: off. Noise at range.
- Crosshair: dot, high-contrast colour (cyan or magenta read best on the maps' browns and greens).
- Sharpening after DLSS/FSR: 20–30%. More adds shimmer.
Polling rate and input lag
Run the mouse at 1000 Hz, cap FPS just under your refresh rate to avoid tearing and queueing, and keep frame generation off; the added frame of latency shows up as "I was on him" shots that miss.
The full graphics preset by resolution is on the best settings page.
FAQ
Where is the FOV slider in WARDOGS?
Settings → Gameplay tab. It's a horizontal FOV value.
What FOV do most players use?
90–95 on 16:9 monitors. 95 is the common "spot people at range" value. Ultrawide players go 100–105.
Does FOV affect FPS?
Slightly. Higher FOV renders more of the scene; expect a few percent at 105 vs 90.
How do I convert my CS2 sensitivity?
Match the 360° distance. Use a sensitivity calculator with your DPI and CS2 sens, target WARDOGS at the same cm/360, then set ADS to feel identical when scoped.
